Debian/Ubuntu

  1. Go to web folder: cd /var/www/html
  2. Download WordPress: wget https://wordpress.org/latest.zip
  3. Install unzip if necessary: apt install -y unzip
  4. Unzip: unzip latest.zip
  5. Assign rights: chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/wordpress
  6. Create the database: mysql -u root -p
  7. In MySQL: CREATE DATABASE wordpress;
  8. CREATE USER "wpuser"@"localhost" IDENTIFIED BY "strong_password";
  9. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON wordpress.* TO "wpuser"@"localhost"; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
  10. Go to http://IP/wordpress and complete the setup from the web interface.
